The Vice-Chancellor, Ekiti State University, Prof. Edward Olanipekun, has lauded two former corps members who served in the institution for their initiatives.

The former National Youth Corp Service members, Adeniji James and Abraham Akinola, had during their service year, developed a portal that could be deployed for computation of students’ results, admission, certificates, transcripts, virtual learning among others for the university.

Olanipekun, who spoke in Ado Ekiti at an event to honour the former corps members, said the university would give the ex-corps members the support to enable them to pursue their careers.

Adeniji and Abraham who graduated from the departments of Computer Engineering and Civil Engineering respectively in the university, had their national service year in EKSU Directorate of Information and Communication Technology for their primary assignments.

The Director of ICT, Prof. Olu Olatunji, said, “The portal that the alumni and corps members developed ranks among the best in Nigeria. It will be beneficial to the university community as there is no more need to engage a third-party vendor in the management of the university portal.”
