Results Of Candidates From Kano Not Withheld – WAEC
The West African Examinations Council yesterday faulted media reports that the results of candidates from Kano State were being withheld owing to the indebtedness of the state government to the council.
Acting Head, Public Affairs, WAEC, Demianus Ojijeogu, in a statement, said the results of candidates of Kano State origin were released alongside those of other candidates on November 2, 2020.
He stated: “The attention of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), Nigeria, has been drawn to a publication in online media, alleging that the results of candidates from Kano State were being withheld as a result of the indebtedness of the Kano State Government to the West African Examinations Council.
“There is no iota of truth in this allegation, whatsoever. For the avoidance of doubt, the council wishes to state that the results of candidates of Kano State origin were released alongside those of other candidates on Monday, November 2, 2020.”
The council urged the Kano State Government, schools and candidates, parents and other stakeholders in the state to ignore the publication.
